Pawan Singh is a prominent Indian Bhojpuri singer and film actor. He was born in Jokhari, Arrah, Bihar. He has starred in many hit Bhojpuri films, such as Devra Bada Satawela and Bhojpuriya Raja. Pawan Singh has a very successful music career, with about 2528 Bhojpuri and Hindi film songs and 895 video albums. His style and voice have made him an important face of Bhojpuri cinema.

Career

Pawan Singh has worked as a singer on Bhojpuri pop albums. His first album was "Odhaniya Wali" released in 1997 followed by "Kaanch Kasaili" in 2004. In 2008 Singh released the album Lollipop Lagelu (title song). Pawan Singh gained international recognition with "Lollipop Lagelu", a song that makes people of every language dance. He played his first leading role in the 2007 film Rangli Chunariya Tohre Naam.

Pawan Singh is not very educated but is no less than anyone in terms of music. Recently he signed for the film "Crack Fighter" for Rs 1 crore, making him the most expensive Bhojpuri actor.

Political career

BJP general secretary Arun Singh inducted Pawan Singh into the BJP in 2014 by putting a saffron garland on him in the presence of BJP's Bihar state unit chief Nityanand Rai and general secretary and Bihar in-charge Bhupendra Yadav.

Personal Life

Pavan Singh married Neelam Singh in 2014 in a private ceremony attended by family, friends, relatives and some big names from Bhojpuri industry. But soon after their marriage, Neelam committed suicide at their home on 8 March 2015.[8] In 2018, Pawan married Jyoti Singh in a private ceremony in Ballia attended only by family and some close aides. He filed for divorce from Jyoti in 2022 which hasn't yet been finalized as Pawan Singh has refused to proceed with the same..

Controversies

In 2019, Bhojpuri Actress Akshara Singh filed an FIR against him for giving her death threats and posting her vulgar pictures and videos on social media. She claimed that, they were in relationship and she decided to end that after he got married in March 2018. Singh, however, did not want things to end yet and began pressurising her to continue their relationship. Akshara has alleged he also threatened to "not let her work in the industry".

His second wife Jyoti Singh alleged that he forced her to abort two pregnancies and accused him of domestic violence.
